Abstract: The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the use of chronemes as markers of nonverbal communication by the journalists of the popular American newspaper The New York Times. It determines the correlation of total number, the highest and lowest concentration of chronemes in articles by Dan Bilefsky and Ellen Barry
