Abstract: Forced capillary waves are investigated in the pool of finite dimensions within the framework of linear dynamics of an incompressible liquid. Analytical expression for the velocity potential of the liquid in such waves is derived. It is demonstrated that amplitude poles of the forced capillary waves determine the frequency spectrum of free capillary waves
