Abstract: The article provides an overview of the process of the theory of legal facts formation and development in various legal systems. The perception features of the theory in the continental Western Europe countries, the Anglo-Saxon legal systems, as well as in Russia are revealed. The conclusion is made that currently in Russia there is an active development of the theory of legal facts. It is filled with new content and elements. Great importance is attached to the study of large factual systems that identified by Russian jurists
