Educational resource and functions of volunteering activities as a sphere of students' self-realization

Abstract

The study identified the main motives of students’ participation in volunteering activities, among which there are the motives of self-fulfillment and social recognition. The conditions of attracting students to volunteering are described; the leading one is social support of their collective initiatives. Using a systematic approach, the authors uncovered the functions of volunteering activities (personality development function, identification function, creative-transformative function, professional-labor function, axiological function, moral-spiritual function, humanistic function etc.)
