Abstract: The Serbian society, as well as the majority of the societies in transition, show complete "openness" for globalizing influences, which, at a practical level, is realized by the implementation of the harmonization with the so-called European space. Therefore, the total developmental policy is perceived as exclusively the process of accelerated adjustment to international standards. The educational policies are just a part of the total developmental policy and follow the same developmental logic: they accept trans-national standards
